For Seamless Live Emergency HD Switching

The MicroVideo HDS 201-S is a synchronous protection switch for HD/SD-SDI signals, providing automatic and seamless switching of critical digital paths.  The HDS 201-S can be set to switch seamlessly between two mistimed input sources even on loss of the primary feed.

The HDS 201-S has two modes of switching; automatic and non-resetting.  When set to automatic the HDS 201-S will immediately switch back to the primary signal once that signal has been restored.  In the non-resetting mode, the secondary input remains routed to the output until you reset the switch. 

Tally outputs give status of the selected source allowing GPI’s to be triggered.  Up to 4 HDS 201-S cards may be installed in a 1 RU frame with dual power supplies for PS failure protection.

For HD Production Switching

For synchronized production switching the model HDS 201 (2x1) or HDS 202 (2x2) provide seamless HD (SMPTE 292M) or SD (SMPTE 259M) switching between co-timed inputs.  GPI interface allows you to select inputs.

The HDS 202 is designed for applications where larger routers are not cost effective or do not offer the safety measure of emergency switching.  If your inputs are co-timed, a seamless changeover is achieved, making the HDS 202 ideal for live applications.  Also, both inputs are monitored and if one fails, the output may be automatically switched.  Switching between two different HD graphics generators during a live sporting event would be easy with the HDS card.  If your inputs are mistimed you would want the HDS 201-S version.
